Abandono por avería mecánica de Pepe López y Borja Rozada en el Rally de España – RACC
 

Resultado amargo para Pepe López y Borja Rozada en el Rally de España - RACC; la pareja del Rally Team Spain tuvo que abandonar al término de la segunda jornada a causa del desfallecimiento del motor de su Skoda Fabia.

A pesar de una mecánica que se iba apagando, Pepe y Borja corrieron como nunca y consiguieron llegar a ocupar la segunda posición de su categoría WRC3, pero los técnicos de Skoda Motorsport aconsejaron parar para prevenir daños mayores en el motor, al detectar que estaban compitiendo con un cilindro sin compresión.

Este abandono compromete muy seriamente su lucha por el podio en la clasificación final del Campeonato del Mundo WRC3, una verdadera lástima teniendo en cuenta los buenos resultados obtenidos durante las últimas pruebas.

Pepe López (piloto): “Teníamos muchas ilusiones puestas en el rally de nuestra casa, pero la suerte no nos ha acompañado y hemos tenido que desistir. Siento una tremenda decepción porque sinceramente creo que teníamos la velocidad para haber dado una gran alegría a todos los que nos apoyan, empezando por mi equipo Race Seven, pero las carreras son así y hay que aceptarlo. Felicito a la organización del rally y a los muchísimos aficionados presentes en los tramos, se merecen un diez”.

Bitter results for Pepe López and Borja Rozada in the Rally de España - RACC; the Rally Team Spain pair had to retire at the end of the second day due to the engine failure of their Skoda Fabia.

Despite a mechanical that was fading, Pepe and Borja ran like never before and managed to reach the second position in their WRC3 category, but Skoda Motorsport technicians advised them to stop to prevent further damage to the engine, detecting that they were competing with a cylinder without compression.

This retirement seriously compromises his fight for the podium in the final classification of the WRC3 World Championship, a real pity considering the good results obtained during the last races.

Pepe López (driver): "We had high hopes for our home rally, but luck wasn't on our side and we had to give up. I am extremely disappointed because I sincerely believe that we had the speed to have given a great joy to all those who support us, starting with my Race Seven team, but racing is like that and we have to accept it. I congratulate the rally organisers and the many fans who were present on the stages, they deserve a tenner".
